Summary

Do your students know about The Autism Toolbox? Have you used the Toolbox resources to support your student's coursework?

The Autism Toolbox is a Scottish Government resource. This session there is a focus on raising awareness of the Toolbox website with College staff who can encourage students training in Early Education and Childcare to use the Toolbox as a reference or for personal development in autism.

The website provides advice, links to resources and further reading as well as opportunities for ongoing development and showcasing good practice across Scotland

Aims:

To recognise that the Toolbox Website:

  • can be accessed by all school staff to help support young people with autism
  • has been developed and evaluated by a wide group of practitioners
  • supports inclusive practices
  • focuses on the principles and capacities of Curriculum for Excellence and GIRFEC
  • provides a forum for sharing and continually updating and disseminating good practice.
